On September 10, Mulberry represented artists, Brittany Stewart and Dominique Joiner presented a collaborative portrait to Shaquille O’Neal in honor of his work to promote children’s literacy.
The piece was unveiled at the Storytime Village event, Hoops for Literacy during their 2022 Kansas Literacy Festival. Shaq, a children’s books author and renowned athlete, made a special guest appearance at the event to help raise awareness on the importance of children’s literacy.
Hoops for Literacy has been a part of the Storytime Village’s programs since 2014 and a part of the Kansas Literacy Festival since 2016. The event promotes literacy through the participation of community leaders, celebrity guests, and the support of the community. Every child leaves the game with literacy resources and a book to help build their home library.
