Anthony Eyton, RA, RWA, LG (b. 1923)
Educated at Canford School, Dorset, then studied Fine Art for a term at Reading University, where Professor Anthony Betts encouraged him to paint from drawings.
His war service was spent in the Army and afterwards he spent two years in Egypt, where he painted spasmodically.
He attended Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts from 1947-
He began teaching at Camberwell in 1955 and continued to do so on a part time basis
until the 1980’s. He held numerous one-
He was elected an Associate of the RA in 1976 and a full member in 1987. He has travelled the world extensively and has held teaching appointments in Canada. His work is held in the permanent collection in the Tate Gallery and in 1983 the Imperial War Museum had an exhibition of his paintings.
